From the recording My Savior, My Lord, My King
My goal in music is to create music that as closely as possible reflects the lyrics and their message, emotion, and story. I hope I have been able to do so here, sharing my testimony of the strength that the Lord gives us through trials and life, something I have gained as I have learned and felt very strongly through life's ups and downs the hand of the Lord. When we think the world is in chaos, we can always remember who is in charge. He can still the waves, and when He chooses not to because He wants us to grow, He can calm and comfort our souls, until He demonstrates His ultimate power with ultimate triumph.
Be still, my soul, the Lord is on thy side.
With patience, bear thy cross of grief and pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide.
In ev'ry change, He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; thy best, thy heav'nly friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
Be still, my soul; the Lord doth undertake
To guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake.
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul; the winds and waves still know
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.
Be still, my soul; the hour is hast'ning on
When we shall be together with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, Love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul; when change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
We shall meet at last.
